PREFABRICATED LOAD CENTERS

Installing load centers on a job site is a time-consuming undertaking for even the most experienced electrician. Most project managers would argue that the estimate never includes enough time to complete all that is required to install load centers.

THE STEPS REQUIRED INCLUDE:

1. Receive load centers, circuit breakers and covers at the job site and move them to storage.

2. If load centers are not the same for every unit type, the various sizes/types must be identified and sorted to determine where they are to be installed.

3. Circuit breakers must be sorted from their bulk packaging and distributed based on individual panel schedules.

4. Back boxes and circuit breakers must be moved to the unit where they are to be installed.

5. Circuit breakers must be installed. (New Arc-fault requirements have increased the labor for this task.)

6. Load centers are installed in framed walls with care taken to ensure proper exposure for drywall.

7. Feed cable for each load center is installed with appropriate connector.

8. Knock-outs are removed, connectors are installed and the outer jacket of branch circuit cables are removed and attached to load centers.

9. Conductors are required to be connected to specific circuit breakers in accordance with panel schedules; conductors must be stripped and landed on circuit breakers.

10. Neutrals and grounds all must be stripped and landed on their respective terminal blocks.

11. Temporary cover must be put in place to protect contents of load center during construction.

12. Covers must be retrieved from storage, sorted and delivered to required locations.

13. Panel schedules are attached to covers during final trim out.

Electrical Prefab Systems has developed a UL-Listed solution that eliminates virtually all of these time-consuming steps, saving your company an average of four hours of labor per assembly. We have designed a proprietary bracket that allows us to prefabricate load centers for all residential applications whether they use NM-Cable or MC-cable.

As you can see in the attached images, our prefabricated load centers are completed in a neat and detailed manner. To install, simply remove the load center from the packing material, unroll the cable and screw the load center to the studs to secure. Later, when you are ready, we will ship you the covers that already include the panel schedules installed.
